Benefits of Membership
SPIN membership is important, because it creates a sense of fellowship, camaraderie, and inspiration. It can be lonely being a silk painter if one has no knowledge of other silk artists within their region or around the world. SPIN membership ignites creativity. It also provides education and guidance and resources for the beginning silk artist as well as the experienced silk artist. SPIN members gain access to experts and developing artists throughout the globe. Fellow members generously share their successes and mistakes with each other. We hope that this organization can provide a personal sense of community for you and access to silk painters world wide.

Master Silk Painter
Members can apply for "Master Silk Painter" status. Applicants are reviewed by committee and if awarded this honor, are entitled to the use of this designation in their publications,websites,exhibitions etc. Find out more HERE
Exhibitions
SPIN sponsored juried exhibitions give members the opportunity to display their work at a national/ international level. Local Chapters may host regional exhibitions. Find out more HERE
Artwork
Members' art is displayed within the directory and with their permission, linked to their website.
Festival
SPIN organizes a biennial event which celebrates a silk painting extravaganza. These week-long events are filled with speakers, workshops, exhibits, fashion shows, reunions and new friendships.The next Festival will be in October of 2021 HERE
Tutorials
Free tutorials and demonstrations are available for members.
SPIN members have free access to tutorials via Vimeo, while non-members will be charged a fee. SPIN silk artists from all over the world have the opportunity to teach and share their craft with our members.
