Calling all Silk Painters!Please consider applying to the Art Show for 2022 Festival, prepare your works and enter, starting June 17, 2022
*CORRECTION: your art does NOT have to be for sale, it's your choice. The Fine Art Show has returned for 2022 to the Sandra J. Blain Exhibition Galleries at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN. This art show will feature the best in SPIN members' artwork including professionals, new artists, and MSPs (Master Silk Painters).
These works will be displayed as a live exhibit and for sale on the SPIN and Arrowmont's website. Important Dates:
1. Entry Period: June 17-July 31, 2022 (Fill out the application, pay entry fee and upload art)
2. Deadline for Entries: August 15 by midnite EDT.
3. Artist notification:August 10 (You will be notified by email of which pieces are to be hung in the art show!), you will recieve shipping instructions per Arrowmont's request. (25% discount for return details).
4. Artwork must arrive at Arrowmont by September 5, 2022.
5. Exhibit Dates: September 13, 2022 to October 16, 2022.

To APPLY TO THE SHOW, click here: Selection Process: This exhibition will be selected from the results of a blind jury of three art and silk painting professionals. Entries will be judged via the photos the artist submits in online viewing. The initial judging will not be viewed publicly. The juried submissions will be hung in the Arrowmont galleries and will be shown online via Arrowmont's website and via SPIN's website. Details: 1.There will be a maximum of three (3) entries per person.
Please keep in mind that since we will be limited in gallery space all of your pieces may not be accepted. If you had entered artwork in last year's online gallery exhibition you may resubmit them again for this year's show. Artwork photos should have nothing in the background and preferable white background if the artwork is an unusual size or configuration. Framing should not be shown as part of the artwork. Each image must be a combined file size of 5MB and in Jpeg format with a minimum of 300 dpi in quality. We want your artwork to look its best so that the judges can properly judge it and show it well virtually. All work must be original and not created in a workshop. All works must have been created since 2018 and have not been shown in other SPIN exhibitions. Entry material must 80% silk. Upon acceptance and notification to the show, artists must provide an artist's statement and a brief bio included in their entry. This artist statement and bio will be published on the SPIN website.
2.The title of each jpeg attachment must include your LAST NAME, FIRST NAME and TITLE, and DIMENSIONS. There should be two images for each entry: one with detail of the artwork, including dimensions of work including frame (length x width x height), Maximum three separate entries. If the image is a detail shot, please mention detail in the title as well. You should also include which category you will be entering each piece.
3. SPIN reserves the right to refuse any artwork that might be deemed inappropriate, offensive, or structurally unsound for the venue. CHECKLIST: Upload Images and application to SPIN website by July 31_
Sales Artwork does NOT have be for sale, please mark NFS, if notfor sale. If your work sells, you will receive 60% of the sale, with SPIN 10% and Arrowmont 30%.You will be notified and issued a check by the end of the exhibit on October 16. All sold works must remain online with the exhibition for its duration and not sent to the purchaser until the end of the loan period.
