deColourant, the discharging agent, (available through DharmaTrading) will remove the color from dyed natural fabrics. It is another good tool to have in your arsenal of supplies. It can add texture, a new color, or create a space to add another color. It can also recover a white resist line that didn’t quite hold. |
The distinctly blue areas (mostly in the lower half of the painting) have been created by discharging. I do not wait for the discharge paste paste to dry (per the instructions on Jacquard Discharge Paste) but lay down a heated dedicated discharge steam iron right onto the silk where there is brushed-on discharge paste.
