Sixteen years ago I began to explore the diverse effects of silk painting and found a strong connection with the fluid movement and brilliant colors of the dye. Using a medium-weight silk, silk dyes and resist, I layer color to create form and texture, counting missteps as design elements that are sometimes more beautiful and interesting than the original concept. My silks represent the ebb and flow of life, a mixture of abstraction and reality. A reflection of my particular experiences. Fueled by nature, within the breadth of colors, textures, and organic form I find my vitality to create. I am interested in design, arranging shapes and colors while exploring the diversity of forms and structures. I find that silk painting is the best medium to do that.
