Benefits of Membership

Our Goal is to promote silk painting as a fine art but it is at least as important for us to create a sense of fellowship, camaraderie, and inspiration. Sometimes it is lonely to be a silk painter with no other painters in their region. We hope that this organization can provide a sense of community and ready access to other silk painters (even if electronically). Below is a list of benefits of SPIN membership.

The Silkworm	A twenty page full color magazine on silk painting is delivered to your door every quarter. Members also get access to all of the archived magazines. See an example Silkworm
Email Blast	A monthly email note will update you on silk painting news and happenings.
Membership List	Members have access to a membership list of silk painters locally and around the world.
Community	Members see themselves as members of an international community of silk painters. Colleagues provide problem solving, encouragement and inspiration.
Regional Networks	SPIN promotes and helps to develop local/regional chapters where members can paint together, share ideas, hold exhibitions, etc. Find out more HERE
Signature Membership	Members can be designated "Master Silk Painters" by their peers and are then entitled to use this designation after their name and on their art.. Find out more HERE
Exhibitions	SPIN sponsored juried exhibitions give members the opportunity to display their work at a national/ international level. Local Chapters may host regional exhibitions. Find out more HERE
Store	Members can have their books, videos, or web classes listed for free on the website. Find out more HERE
Classes	Members can have classes that they are teaching listed for free on the website. Find out more HERE
Artwork	Members' art is displayed throughout the SPIN website with each piece linked to that member's website.
Festival	SPIN organizes a biennial international silk painting extravaganza, filled with speakers, workshops, exhibits, fashion show and lots of comraderie. Find out more HERE
Knowledge	SPIN is developing a Silk Painting Wiki that it hopes will become a repository for silk painting information. This will always be accessible to the public. Check it out HERE
Engaged	SPIN is a volunteer non-profit organization run entirely by and for its members. There are many opportunities to get involved.
