Color Theory: How to Talk About The Colors We See-Seminar

Color Theory: How To Talk About The Colors We See

A Seminar by Suzanne Punch

Color Theory gives a common vocabulary so that we can talk about color with accuracy. It also helps us understand when something goes wrong and just why that  happened.

Color palettes that hermonize, give us a wonderful sense of the best possibilities of colors together. Peace and inner satisfaction accompany colors that work together. But what is it that goes wrong sometimes?

Color theory engages our minds in the process of seeing our work. Even so, our own intuition about what colors work together, remains our most valuable asset when painting. Let's celebrate that together!

Bio: Pushing the boundaries of this ancient medium since 1984, Suzanne Punch has brought fine art sensibility to the interaction of dyes and resist on silk, opening new possibilities of painterly expression. Her work has been exhibited in the United States, England, and Japan in gallery, museum and private settings.

Suzanne's commercial work has included prototypes and production for Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, Theory, Blue Man Group and the NYC Ballet through DyeNamix Studio in Manhattan. She has taught workshops in 7 states across the country and Canada, including annually at the Mendocino Art Center. Suzanne is also a faculty member of the School of Visual Arts in NYC.

In 2009, Suzanne was given the lifetime designation of Master Silk Painter by Silk Painters International
